Review: Playing Pretend (Giveaway Included!!!)

Description Provided by Goodreads: As the Governor’s daughter, Charlotte McClain is an expert in playing pretend. High society, the men her mother shoves in her direction and a Pre-Law major are all a part of her perfect pretense. But when she pretends to be a nobody during Spring Break, she meets someone who rocks her world.

Mason Rowell knows heartbreak and Spring Break don’t mesh well, so he allows the mysterious Charlotte to seduce him. What should have been a fling, results in something deeper. After Spring Break has long since passed, he moves to Washington to pursue his graduate degree, but what he never expected to find living among the rich and pompous, was the girl who gave him the strength to change and the desire to start anew.

When the guy Charlotte can’t forget goes from a sensual memory to temptation in the flesh, her facade is put to the test. If she surrenders to his charms, she risks ruining her mother’s perfect career and master plan. Playing pretend is what Charlotte does best, but how long can she pretend she doesn't love the man who made her proud of her true self?

Story Line: I love that this story starts with Charlotte "picking up" a random guy at a bar, who turns out to be Mason. I loved the twist of Mason moving and meeting Charlotte, it keeps the story interesting and unique. I also loved how there was another love interest (sort of...maybe...kind of...according to her mom...lol!!!).

Relationships: Mason and Charlotte's relationship and connection is so hot and flirty yet tender and deep at the same time!! Their relationship, which starts as a fling, quickly transforms into something more for both of them. I love the progression of their relationship through out the story!!

Characters:
Charlotte: Charlotte's character faces a difficult decision in this book. She has to chose between being the daughter her mother always wanted her to be or bring herself, which is represented in Mason. I love her transformation through out the book and the moments when she was truly herself, which were with her friends and Mason. I also loved how her love for life came through the pages.

Mason: Mason is one of the perfect book guy characters!!! While at first, I thought that he would be a little cocky he turned out to be one of the sweetest male characters I've read about! Not only does Mason have to deal with Charlottle's conflicting feelings but he also has to deal with heartbreak and trust issue. I loved his character and he totally has made my list of favorite male characters!!

Overall: I absolutely loved it! It's a perfect combination of romance, secrecy, interesting storyline, and awesome characters!!! The characters are very human like with human qualities, faults, and decisions. However, through it all I absolutely loved it!!!

Rating: I would give this book a 9 out of 10!!!
